Designing with Intention
Luxury is shifting.
No longer loud or performative, it’s becoming quieter, smarter, and more personal. We’re entering a new era - one where thoughtful choices hold more value than status symbols, and where the most beautiful homes are defined not by excess, but by intention.
Designing with intention means every decision - from the layout of a space to the choice of materials, is rooted in how people really live. It’s not about ticking trend boxes, It’s about creating environments that support calm, connection, and long-term comfort.
This new kind of luxury is understated. It’s found in soft, tactile materials. In natural light. In the way a room feels at 7am when the sun filters through sheer curtains. It’s the way good design can quietly support your routine, reflect your values, and make space for what matters.
Clients are asking better questions:
How do I want to feel in my home?
What do I actually need?
What brings me comfort, clarity, or joy - daily?
But intentional design doesn’t stop at function - it draws from experience.
Our travels, the food we’ve tasted, the cultures we’ve been immersed in, the architecture we’ve admired in cities or villages far from home - these are all part of how we understand beauty and belonging.
Every experience we have - walking through a quiet Parisian courtyard, sipping espresso in a Roman alleyway, sharing food in a family-run taverna, watching light shift across tiled walls in Morocco - these memories imprint themselves. They shape how we want to feel at home. They influence the textures we’re drawn to, the colours that calm us, the materials that feel authentic.
Designing with intention means bringing those lived experiences into the spaces we create - not literally, but emotionally. It’s not about mimicking a place, but about honouring what it taught us. Every journey deepens our understanding of how other people live, eat, gather, pray, rest. And that understanding makes our own spaces richer, more layered, and more alive.
We no longer design to impress. We design to express. To live meaningfully. To slow down. To savour.
At Catt Interiors, we believe design should be deeply personal, quietly luxurious, and genuinely livable. It should elevate the everyday, without making life feel like a performance.
Because true design isn’t about more.
It’s about making space for what matters most.
